Increase Performance

Why "Trust"?

Trust can be our biggest expense or greatest asset. For the trusted brand, people pay more, come back, and tell others. The trusted leader is followed and the trusted salesperson is bought from.

We know how difficult it can be to develop new business, build high trust relationships and increase revenue. Amidst these challenges, we have to get results and become most trusted in our industries.

In the first half of the Trust Edge Experience workshop, we will learn the Case for Trust and the 8 Pillar Framework™. In the second half of the workshop we will look specifically at the top challenges you bring to the event and will solve them using the How? How? How? Strategy.

-David Horsager, CEO, Trust Edge Leadership Institute

Facilitator

Captain Wesley S. Huey, Ph.D., USN (Retired)

Captain Huey graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1987. He attended flight training in Beeville, Texas, earning his wings as a Naval Aviator in November 1989.

After FRS training in the F-14A at NAS Oceana, Captain Huey reported to the Swordsmen of VF-32, where he completed two deployments aboard USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67), including combat operations in Desert Storm. Captain Huey transitioned to the FA-18 in September 1994 and completed a tour as an FRS instructor at VFA-106 in Jacksonville, Florida, where he earned an MBA at Jacksonville University.

Captain Huey reported to the White House in June 1997 for duty as the Naval Aide to the President of the United States, William Jefferson Clinton, serving in that capacity until April 1999. He completed his Department Head tour with the Knighthawks of VFA-136 in July 2001, and reported to the staff of Commander, US Naval Forces Europe, in London, UK, serving as the Strike Warfare Officer until March 2003.

Captain Huey served as the 32nd Commanding OFficer of VFA-37 from March 2005 to June 2006. During his tour, his squadron was deployed or on-call to deploy to a combat theater for a then-unprecedented 30 consecutive months.

Captain Huey was selected in June 2006 for doctoral training in Social Psychology and Military Sociology at the University of Maryland College Park, while still on active duty. He received his Ph.D. in 2010; Captain Huey's dissertation was titled "Innovation as Group Process: Hierarchy, Status, and the Dilemma of Participative Leadership." That summer he joined the faculty of the U.S. Naval Academy teaching leadership and social psychology. Captain Huey served for 3 years as the Director, Division of Leadership Education and Development, leading a faculty of 43 civilian professors and military officers teaching four core courses in leadership and military ethics, along with over 20 electives in psychology, philosophy, sociology, and military law. His was the only academic division at the Naval Academy to teach the entire student body every academic year.

During his 20-year flying career, Captain Huey amassed over 3,000 flight hours in tactical aircraft, including over 1,000 hours in both the F-14 and FA-18, and over 700 arrested landings on eight different aircraft carriers. He retired from the naval service in September 2017 after 30 years.

After retirement, Wes became the first Chief People Officer at Skyline Technology Solutions located near Baltimore, combining the functions of Chief Human Resource Officer and Chief Learning Officer for a company that prides itself on its people-centered culture. He resided in Annapolis, Maryland, with wife Erica, son Kyle, and twins Evan and Emily.
